Creating Together Builds Stronger Relationships.

Creating Together Builds Stronger Relationships.

A few weeks ago I flew home for a family visit. At different houses I stayed at, board games naturally came out after dinner. I can't even remember how long it has been since I played board games with family, and it was so much fun. It really made me think about how media, movies, social media has separated us. Lockdowns made everything 1000x worse. There is nothing wrong with alone time, but in the year after lockdown, no media messages have been about togetherness and family. We need to start following our instincts and start being together again doing fun activities.

We naturally know that families that engage in creative activities together can experience stronger bonds and deeper connections. Whether it's cooking, crafting, painting, or playing music, the act of creating something together can foster communication, collaboration, and a sense of shared purpose.

Creative activities together allows family members the opportunity to learn how to communicate more effectively. When working on a project, family members must communicate and share ideas to ensure that everyone is on the same page. This can lead to a deeper understanding of each other's perspectives and strengths, and a greater appreciation for each other's contributions.

Moreover, the act of creating together can promote collaboration and problem-solving skills. When working on a project, family members may encounter challenges that require creative solutions but by working together to overcome these challenges, family members can develop important problem-solving skills that can be applied to other areas of their lives.

Creative activities can provide an opportunity for families to relax and have fun together. The act of creating can be a joyful and fulfilling experience, and can provide a break from the stresses of daily life. By engaging in creative activities together, families can build positive memories and experiences that can last a lifetime.

My memories of playing games with family this past month are precious. Don't forget to try something new and creative with family today!
